Our Practitioners

NUTRITION FOR HEALTH is led by Lindsay Kubicki. Following a business career, Lindsay became increasingly aware of the vital link between diet and poor health. In the course of her career she travelled to many countries, both westernised and underdeveloped and, way before she came to grips with epidemiological studies, she became aware of how chronic degenerative disease (such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis) seemed to 'favour' the more developed countries.   We seem to have more to eat, yet are less well nourished.  Does this have to do with how we produced our food and our food choices?   Her growing passion for nutrition's impact on our health, prompted a career switch. Initially she studied for a Diploma in Nutrition under Dr Lawrence Plaskett, medical school biochemistry academician and subsequent nutritional practitioner, and then needing to learn more and commit to the rigours of a clinical practice training, she followed up with a degree in Nutritional Medicine.

Lindsay now runs a nutritional practice in the Stamford, Peterborough, Oakham area, covering the five counties of the East Midlands: Lincs, Cambs, Leics, Northants and Rutland. She offers a complementary integrated service, providing dietary services to support medical treatment, and reduce the risk of chronic disease through optimum nutrition.

She is an active member of her professional body, the British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy (BANT), and serves on the Committee on Continuing Professional Development. She is particularly interested in research developments in functional medicine and preventive nutrition.

She is an accredited member of the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners and a registered NTC practitioner.   The NTC (Nutritional Therapy Council) is the professional standards council for nutritional therapy.

Testimonials

'I had a lot of digestive problems, but Lindsay got to the heart of what was upsetting my system, and once on my new programme I started to feel a lot better. My IBS symptoms are now a thing of the past, and I don't worry about falling asleep at the wheel any more.' PW Oakham

'I've reduced my diabetes tablets, and the doctor says my cholesterol and triglycerides have improved, and if I can maintain my new diet, I won't need to go on to statins'. RT Bourne

'The big packet of information you sent me after my consultation was most helpful. There was a lot to take on board, and I'd forget otherwise! I now understand about low GI foods, and best of all, my bloating and sugar cravings have gone. Thanks!' EC Spalding

'Lindsay, our nutritionist, is a valuable asset to our Breast Feeding Support Group. Her wide range of knowledge has helped us provide the mums with better care for themselves and for their babies as they are weaned'. GC Midwife Corby

'I've got more energy, my skin is clearer, and the weight is coming off quite steadily. Even once I have achieved my target weight, I think I will be able to keep up a new healthier way of eating which I haven't been able to with other slimming diets'. MB Leicester

'I thought all I needed was a 7 day detox. It wasn't quite that simple but Lindsay found what was causing my symptoms and by following her detailed nutrition plan, my hormones are more balanced and my mood swings have disappeared.' CC Peterborough
